Kingdom Installment Company & Saudi Home Loans – 2005-2007

Position:  Advisor to the Board / Chief Operating Officer

  • Conceptualisation and documentation of the initial business plan for first Sharia- compliant, non-bank home loan provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Structured incorporation of company (including the arranging of funding), as a joint venture between Arab National Bank, International Finance Corporation and Dar Al Akan
  • Initiation and placement of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s first Sharia-compliant securitisation programme, in conjunction with the IFC and Stanbic, London.

Position:  Shareholder and Chief Executive

  • Development of new banking product and offering that was, and still is, at the cutting-edge of banking innovation
  • Responsibility for raising and participating in the initial seed capital required to establish the enterprise
  • Launch of the company on behalf of Investec Bank and Purple Capital
  • Establishment of the inaugural capital market’s funding programme
  • Oversight of the re-engineering of the business model in response to 2008 global financial crisis, including downsizing of lending operations and restructuring of personnel functions

Deutsche Gulf Finance – 2011-2013

Position:  Advisor and Chief Executive Officer

  • Responsibility to Board of Directors and Deutsche Bank for re-engineering the entire business and funding model

  • Management of an executive transition and on-boarding of a new Saudi CEO
